Lucky Lucy
Compelling, moving, suspenseful, extraordinary—these are just some of the words that can be used to describe this highly recommended novel.
In 1890, a catatonic woman named Lucy is admitted to a psychiatric hospital somewhere in Louisiana, USA, where a nurse, Cat, becomes deeply attached to this mysterious patient. But what has happened to the scarred and tormented Lucy?
A perfect choice for readers who enjoy gripping novels with an unexpected twist, speculative and gothic fiction.
An outstanding novel and a remarkable debut. Exceptionally well written and deeply affecting, it succeeds in holding the reader’s attention from the very first page to the last. A truly unique and memorable reading experience, and a novel that stays with you long after you have turned the final page.

Me Mona always in clogs (red)
A very powerful illustrated novel, beautifully illustrated by Josefine Blom. Mette Hegnhøj has a unique talent for language, expression, and pushing the boundaries of the children's book format.
The text is both wondrous and poetic, yet written in a way that makes Mona’s emotions and her escape from the outside world easy to understand. The story exists on both a realistic and a fairy-tale level, as well as on a visual one. The entire text is highly evocative, with each page resembling a picture, while the imaginative illustrations add another layer to the overall expression.
The book is suitable for children aged 10 and up and offers plenty of themes and ideas to reflect on and discuss. In addition, I believe many readers will recognize something of themselves in Mona.
